“I am inevitable,” boasted Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Spoiler alert: He didn’t end well.
But there is something that truly is inevitable: The reign of Jesus Christ now and forever. As Pastor Philip continues teaching through Acts, we witness again and again how the Spirit worked through the early church to transform individuals, entire cities, and eventually, the mighty Roman Empire. The believers were simply obeying Christ’s command to make disciples locally and globally—but it came at great cost through suffering and fierce opposition.
Today, our partners face strikingly similar challenges: threats to life and livelihood, imprisonment, discrimination, and more. Yet they press forward, and Christ’s church continues to grow. We have a crucial part to play by providing the resources needed to fuel this worldwide movement. Together as believers, empowered by the Spirit, we truly are unstoppable!
