Hello Children’s Chorus Families.

What a special time of singing we had this past Wednesday! It was a blessing to see old and new faces and to gather once again to praise the Lord. Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we continue to figure out the best way to sing together this fall.

We’re excited to see everyone back this Wednesday, September 22 at 5:30pm. As of now, we are still planning to rehearse outside though there is a possibility of rain. It is supposed to be a little chilly so please do have your child bring a jacket! If the weather is too cold or rainy for us to be outside, we will have a sign posted at the 1635 entrance directing you to come to check in by the choir room.

Christmas Musical

Each year in December the Children’s Chorus presents a Christmas Musical in the morning service. Each child will have a role as a chorister and will be responsible to learn choreography and come up with a costume. We have an entire webpage devoted to our Christmas musical that will be updated with all the information you need! You can check it out here by entering the password sing (all lowercase). Some of the material on the page, such as the listening link, is under copyright and can only be shared with those who are participating in the musical.

The big news this week is that we are going to be having tryouts for the speaking roles in our Christmas Musical. The speaking roles are available to students in grades 3-5 but solos are available to any chorus member. Over the next week or two, I will be listening to the older students read and sing as a part of their audition for a speaking role. If your child would like to prepare in advance, I’ve placed a copy of the tryout page on our Christmas Musical Webpage (don’t forget the password is sing). You can also find listening links there to listen to or download this year’s musical.

Solo tryouts for the musical will take place at a later date and will be announced at least a week in advance.

Hope to see you all on Wednesday!
