On November 6, the Search Committee met with Tim Stevens of Vanderbloemen, who presented five candidates for the Committee’s consideration. Tim, who had personally met with each candidate, provided some background about each candidate, showed short video interviews from the candidates, and shared resumes and other written information from the candidates.
The following week, the Committee had separate 45-minute video interviews with each of the candidates. Based on these initial interviews and a review of the background information, the Committee decided to eliminate two candidates from consideration. At that point, the Elders began listening to sermons from the remaining three candidates. The Elders decided to eliminate one of those three candidates.
The Search Committee then conducted separate two-hour video interviews with the remaining two candidates on December 10 and 11. The Committee plans to use the next week to pray about and reflect on the interviews, and will continue to listen to sermons from the candidates. The Committee will meet on December 18 to determine next steps.
As this process moves forward, please continue to pray for the following:
- Pray that the Committee will have wisdom and discernment.
- Pray that God will make clear to the Committee, the Elders, and the candidates whether one of these candidates should be the next Senior Pastor of The Moody Church.
- Pray for the candidates, their families, and their congregations.
- Pray that through this process God will be glorified.
