God is always doing 10,000 things in your life, and you may be aware of three of them. (John Piper)

Here at the end of the book of Ruth we discover that God is doing far more in this little family from Bethlehem than they could ever have imagined. From the dark days of tragedy, to the uncertain days of gleaning, to the risky days of petition, and now to the fruitful days of blessing, God never abandoned Ruth and Naomi. His mercies were there in the shadows all along.

The Bible is filled with testimonies of God’s faithfulness to His people through the storm, the fire, the famine, and even the grave. He never abandons His people. And this same God is now walking through life with you and me. He promises, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). No matter what we face, He is closer than the air we breathe. His goodness and mercy are following after us. And in the shadows of our lives, He is always working.

Life is hard much of the time. Maybe especially so for you right now. This year is a grief-filled one.

Would you dare to trust God, that even now He is working? That He is at this very moment doing 10,000 things in our lives, and we get to see maybe three of them? That His intention for us is goodness, redemption, hope, and fullness?

His providence is always on the move. His goodness never slumbers. And His delight is in His children.

Friends, God hasn’t abandoned us. He loves us. He is for us. He is faithful to us. Let’s fix our eyes on Him.

You are loved, more than you know!
