Last Sunday is a day I will never forget.

To be surrounded by our family, friends, mentors, pastors, directors, staff, elders, and congregation with prayers and affirmation was simply overwhelming. Your prayers and encouragement mean the world to Krista and me. Thank you, sincerely, from the bottom of our hearts.

I also want to take a moment to thank our amazing team here at The Moody Church for pulling off the events of last Sunday with excellence! The baptism celebration was beautiful. The Sunday morning logistics were thoughtfully orchestrated. The facilities were well prepared. The music was exceptional. MoodyFest was so much fun. The kids activities were brilliant. The food was tasty. And the cotton candy was amazing!

In other words, they rocked it!

May I encourage you to take a moment today to thank a couple of our team members for doing an amazing job day in and day out? They do it for the Lord, but it always helps to get a little encouragement from you!

Remember, you are loved, more than you know

  1. Pastor Phillip,
We are so grateful that God brought you and Krista to our church family. Last Sunday was a wonderful experience. The Installation Ceremony was a true blessing. As a member of Moody Church for 32 years, I am so blessed to have lived to see this moment. Please know that you and Krista and your beautiful children are in my prayers. May His anointing continue to be upon you as you lead us into the future. May God bless you and your family in every way.
    In His Love,
    Mrs. Alice Wages

  2. Pastor Phillip, I am going on a young 80 yrs. on this planet. and God has blessed me to be able to move here to Ill. after my husband moved to 777 Come Home to Heaven Street.
I lived with my best friend Judy and her husband a former Professor with Moody, Pastor John Statton Barrier.
Through their support and love, I was encouraged to enroll in MBI and graduated in 1998. and continued as a missionary with C.E.F . My husband and I had a Prison Ministry and also fostered delinquent at-risk boys until his death in 1993.
I will always be grateful to God for the deepening of my roots in his word and the depth of the love he has given to me for his children of all ages and inabilities. Especially among Spanish, Black, and Indian children and adults of all ages.
Moody has always been a word that has stirred up memories of warmth, strength, and encouragement to me even in times of varying storms, and testing. you have sung out loud of Christs’ steadfast love and have indeed become a fortress and a refuge as a gateway to Christ our eternal fortress and refuge.
I just today read that you are the NEW C. E. O. (chief encouragement Officer), so I just wanted to say Welcome and let you know that your message was planted in me and for me today because though I am homebound now because of my health I mentor online with people in the Philippines and Africa and anywhere else God allows me to enter
and your message of “Back to Basics”, is perfect timing and will be used by me to share all that God gave you with those who are hurting and fearful that I have the blessing of praying with and mentoring. (My Dad always taught me to tell God (my name is jimmy, I’ll take all that you gimme!)
Please tell me if this is a series because I don’t want to miss any!!! I am not sure I can afford them all but will ask Jesus to make a way where there seems to be no way, HE IS AWESOME IN THAT DEPARTMENT hA hA!!
MANY BLESSINGS AS YOU TO FEED HIS SHEEP,
    KATHLEEN BACKHUS (GRAMMIE “B”)
