And everyone is so passionate about their workout routine! “You’ve got to try swimming, it’s the best!” “Cycling is where it’s at!” “Once you start weightlifting, you’ll never go back!” It can be overwhelming to have so many options and not know where to begin your fitness journey.
For a lot of people, that’s how it feels to walk into a church. There are so many programs, classes, groups, and initiatives, where on earth do you start? And there are passionate people who love their particular programs making invites: “You’ve got to come, it’s the best!” It can be overwhelming to have so many options and not know where to begin your spiritual journey.
Fitness clubs solve this problem by having a trainer give you an orientation to what’s available and how to achieve your health goals with a personalized fitness plan. In other words, they give you a map to help you on your fitness journey.
In many ways, the four stages of The Journey of a Lifetime form a kind of personalized map to help you on your spiritual journey: (1) Know God, (2) Feed Your Soul, (3) Grow in Love, and (4) Change Your World. We know God through worship. We feed our souls through community. We grow in love through service. And we change our world through mission.
While there are lots of programs, classes, and ways to get involved in the life of The Moody Church, underneath it all you will always find these four main steps on the journey as we follow Jesus. So if you’re new to following Jesus, we hope this map is helpful. And we’re here to help in any way we can as you take your next steps in your spiritual journey with Jesus!
