I just got back from a week of skiing in Colorado with some Moody Church friends. The camaraderie was excellent. The weather was splendid. And the chance to get outdoors
was thrilling!

I love getting out in nature, because it’s in creation that I most readily connect with God. There’s something about mountain grandeur, pounding waves, shimmering stars, and skies refracting with light that make my soul sing. Maybe you too, like me, sense the presence and power of God disclosed through the creative artistry of a world which bears an imprint of His glory. While creation will never speak with the clarity of the revelation we have in God’s Word, it is still a faithful revelation of who He is.

The heavens declare the glory of God,

and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Day to day pours out speech,

and night to night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech, nor are there words,

whose voice is not heard.

Their voice goes out through all the earth,

and their words to the end of the world.

(Psalm 19:1–4)

God has given us so many reasons to raise our eyes toward the heavens and cry out in wonder, awe, and praise for all that He is and has given us in the goodness of this beautiful world. Creation reminds us: we are loved, more than we know.
