It’s Missions Week at The Moody Church! Every year, following Pentecost Sunday— the day we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit to empower the church to go to the ends of the earth on mission—we focus our attention on the unfinished task before us, both globally and locally. Jesus sent us to make disciples of all nations, and so we go across the street and around the world to lift His name high! These are our marching orders. Missions is why we get up in the morning!
To kick off Missions Week, I’m preaching a message titled, “The King of the Nations.” God’s plan has always been that Jesus would be exalted as Lord of all peoples. Psalm 2 will help us behold that global vision.
During the week, there are multiple ways you can get involved, including:
- Hearing from missionaries and ministry partners in your Communities both this Sunday and next.
- Attending Missions Confidential, a special opportunity to hear how God is working in restricted and dangerous places.
- Joining us for a meaningful morning of prayer for the nations.
I also want to remind you that it is during Missions Week that our Redemption Project comes to a close. I want to thank those of you who have generously participated. There’s still time to give and make a huge difference, but please do so this week.
To wrap up Missions Week, our good friend, Dr. Jerry Root, will be preaching a message titled, “Intimacy with Jesus.” I know we will be inspired and challenged! This Missions Week remember, you are loved, more than you know
