Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Amidst the joys of extra time off work, outdoor grilling, and fun with family and friends, we especially remember the sacrifice of those who laid down their lives in the service of this land of the free and home of the brave. Freedom isn’t free, after all. As Jesus told us, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). While the ultimate expression of that love is found in Christ’s sacrifice upon the cross, that self-giving love is also reflected by those who gave their last full measure of devotion on our behalf. So this weekend we choose to pause and honor those who served to the uttermost end.

As Krista and I join you this Sunday, our hearts are full from our time of fellowship with our brothers and sisters at the European Leadership Forum. God is on the move in Europe, my friends! Time and again we heard reports of a quiet stirring and spiritual receptivity across the continent, especially among younger adults. The bankruptcy of secular progressivism has left the rising generation disillusioned and searching for a firm foundation, and many are turning to Jesus and the hope of the Gospel. It is a small beginning, but a significant movement is underway. Please continue to keep the European church in your prayers as Christ builds His church!

This Sunday, we’ll be resuming our study in the book of Acts with a message titled, “Courage in the Night.” The apostle Paul has been arrested, accused, and ambushed. Everything seems stacked against him. Yet in the midst of this darkest of nights, the Lord gives him three-fold courage. We’re going to discover the source of that courage together. If you could use some courage in the night you’re facing, there’s real hope in God’s Word today!

As always, remember, you’re loved, more than you know!
