“Give me one good reason why I should believe in Jesus!” That’s what he said to me as we sat in my office. This young man was a self-proclaimed agnostic with a complicated history when it came to faith. He had asked if he could come discuss some questions. About halfway through our conversation, he advanced the challenge mentioned above. I sat quietly for a moment thinking of how best to respond. How would you have answered his question?

Today, we find the apostle Paul standing before Herod Agrippa making a defense, not only of his innocence, but also of the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. During Paul’s speech, he draws on three lines of reasoning to underscore the veracity of the claims of Jesus. He makes his appeal personally, scripturally, and historically. His personal appeal shows that Jesus changes lives. His scriptural appeal reveals how Jesus fulfills prophecy. And his historical appeal centers on the fact that Jesus revolutionizes history.

Those three lines of reasoning still ring true today. As I told that young man in my office, “There’s way more than just one good reason to believe in Jesus.” Today, we’re going to learn from the apostle Paul “Three Reasons to Believe.” If you’re kicking the tires on faith, this message is for you. If you have friends or loved ones who need Jesus, this message will equip you to share your faith articulately. So let’s lean in and learn together!

You are loved, more than you know!
