In this very tumultuous moment, Psalm 46 reminds us what is solid:

God is our refuge and strength,

a very present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,

though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,

though its waters roar and foam,

though the mountains tremble at its swelling.      Selah

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,

the holy habitation of the Most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;

God will help her when morning dawns.

The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;

he utters his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord of hosts is with us;

the God of Jacob is our fortress.      Selah

Come, behold the works of the Lord,

how he has brought desolations on the earth.

He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;

he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;

he burns the chariots with fire.

“Be still, and know that I am God.

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth!”

The Lord of hosts is with us;

the God of Jacob is our fortress.      Selah

You are loved, more than you know!

  1. Thank you so much, Pastor Phillip. This is one of my favorite Psalms and you have reminded me of these comforting words. My morning prayer and studies always begin with a Psalm, and tomorrow, I will begin with Psalm 46. I am reminded, and have been reading daily, Psalm 131: Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; neither do I deal in great matters, nor in things too high for me. Surely I have humbled and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother; my soul is even as a weaned child. Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever. This reminds me that, the Lord is in control, and I need not try to figure things out in these tumultuous times. The Lord has got it covered for me, and for us as the church. May God richly bless you and thank you for your wonderful words, always. Sincerely, Linda Dechow Ramer

  2. Great job Pastor Philip, I am enjoying the service every Sunday. Please keep up with the good work as the Lord leads. Have a great fall, stay safe you and your family. God bless
