You’re invited to The Moody Church this Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! For centuries, followers of Jesus have greeted one another on Easter morning, “He is risen!” followed in response with, “He is risen indeed!” We’ll extend that ancient greeting to each other in our service on Sunday. I hope you’ll join in wholeheartedly!

The blazing center of the Christian faith is Jesus: the crucified and risen Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself up for us, to bring us back into a right relationship with God. The good news is that God didn’t wait for us to get our act together and find our way back to Him; He came down in search of us and did everything necessary to bring us home. Jesus died in our place and for our sake, bearing all of our sin and shame, and rose again to make us right with God forever! We need only to receive the free gift of salvation by grace that God has provided. That’s the Gospel truth! And Jesus’ resurrection proves it is not a bunch of nonsense. Walking out of the grave on His own two crucified feet demonstrated that Jesus is indeed who He claimed to be: the divine Son of God come to save us. The resurrection means it is time to:

  • Admit we are helpless sinners.
  • Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Commit ourselves wholly to Him.

You see, the resurrection is not some distant historical event, it is a life-changing opportunity for each one of us. Jesus is still in the business of raising dead souls to abundant life. I pray that we will rediscover the life-changing reality that, “He is risen indeed!”

For it is in Jesus we are loved, more than we know!
