Christmastime is one of the best opportunities we have throughout the year to invite friends and family to join us here at The Moody Church. It seems like everyone is looking for tradition and festivity this time of year. Krista and I have found our neighbors to be warmly receptive to our invitations. So let me encourage you to take advantage of this window of opportunity.
The Annual Christmas Concert is always well received, and with two options on Saturday, December 13th at 2:30pm and 6:00pm, there’s even more opportunity. I know Pastor Tim and his team, along with the choir and orchestra, are working hard to make this year’s program unforgettable. Come join us and invite a friend!
The Women’s Christmas Brunch is another great way to introduce folks to Jesus and our church family. This special gathering fosters life-giving connection and encouragement from God’s Word. Dr. Pam MacRae from Moody Bible Institute will be speaking , and I know you’ll be blessed.
The Children’s Christmas Program on Sunday, December 21st is also a natural time to invite family and friends. There’s something about childlike faith that slips past our defenses and reminds us of the wonder of God’s love for us in Jesus. It’s one of our family favorites.
And finally, the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Wednesday, December 24th at 6:00pm will be unforgettable. We’ll sing our favorite Christmas carols and hymns, hear a message on the meaning of Christmas, and fill this place with candlelight as we sing “Silent Night.” If you’re in the city for Christmas this year, please join us and invite your neighbors.
There are so many people far from Jesus but near to us. May I encourage you to take advantage of these Gospel opportunities this month? You never know what God might do through a simple invitation!
Remember, you are loved, more than you know!
