Dear Moody Church Family,

Have you ever noticed how many things are celebrated with their own special day or month? August has many such items: National Sisters Day (3rd), Book Lovers Day (9th), World Elephant Day (12th), National Middle Child Day (also the 12th—they don’t even get their own day!), and not to be “left” out, International Left-Handers Day (13th). These can be fun things to celebrate, but each can be ignored without much impact to our lives or those around us.

August is also National Make-A-Will Month. Creating a will and an estate plan is something that is also easy to ignore, but can create real problems if the unexpected (and inevitable!) happens. If you don’t know where to start, I want to offer a simple solution. The Moody Church has a wonderful partnership with PhilanthroCorp, a charitable will and estate planning firm, to provide our members and attenders with free, confidential will and estate planning services. PhilanthroCorp will assist you in crafting your will and estate plan based on your needs, values, and financial situation. They do not charge you anything for their services and have negotiated discounted rates with a national network of Christian lawyers who can finalize your documents. PhilanthroCorp walks with you every step of the way.

My family has recently completed our estate plan with PhilanthroCorp and a local Christian lawyer, and we had an excellent experience. Our plan was long overdue, but is now in place. Sound estate planning not only provides security for any dependents you might have, it also simplifies the process for the adults who will handle your estate when you’re with Jesus.

If you are interested in PhilanthroCorp’s services, you can email me (below), or click here to fill out an interest form.

As the fiscal year closes, I want to thank you again for the increase in giving we have seen this year. We have prayerfully considered our ministry plans and are excited about what the Lord will do in the year ahead. We can only do this with your help. Would you prayerfully consider a special fiscal year-end gift?

The Bible tells us giving is an act of worship—a joyful response to God’s immeasurable grace and love. Thank you again for your generosity and your commitment to The Moody Church as we continue together on The Journey of a Lifetime!

Together,
Bill Van Tuinen
Pastor of Global Outreach and Stewardship
