Living With Hope addresses a critical physical and spiritual need by providing mobility devices to people with disabilities in Africa.

It is estimated that 35 million people in Africa live with disabilities and require a wheelchair, but most do not have access to one. Due to their lack of mobility, people with disabilities face exclusion from schools, workplaces, and even from their own communities. They are forced to crawl in the dirt, being carried around or lay on the ground for the rest of their lives. The gift of a wheelchair restores dignity, provides opportunities for success, and ultimately provides hope of Christ to them.

Since 2018, Living With Hope has distributed thousands of mobility devices, given many bibles, trained pastors and local leaders, and sent children with disabilities to school.

Safe Families for Children hosts vulnerable children and creates extended family-like supports for desperate families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated by compassion to keep children safe and families intact.

The three objectives of Safe Families for Children are:

  1. Keep children safe during a family crisis such as homelessness, hospitalization, or domestic violence in an effort to prevent child abuse and/or neglect.
  2. Support, and stabilize families in crisis by surrounding them with caring, compassionate community.
  3. Reunite families and reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system. Safe Families seeks to be an alternative to foster care, where appropriate.

By The Hand is a Christ-centered, after-school program that takes kids by the hand and walks with them from kindergarten through college, loving and nurturing them—mind, body and soul. They help children who live in under-resourced neighborhoods have abundant life. By the Hand serves nearly 1,600 kids from Cabrini-Green, Altgeld-Murray, Austin and Englewood, with property in North Austin to begin serving there. With God’s transforming power and the many people who come alongside our kids at different times in different ways, our kids are making tremendous strides. They are succeeding in school—and life.

Operation Christmas Child’s mission is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to show His love in a tangible way to children in need. Since 1993, millions of children in more than 150 countries have received OCC shoeboxes. These shoebox gifts are not only tangible expressions of God’s love, but for many kids, the first gift they’ve ever received. Volunteers from local churches around the world partner with OCC to present the gospel of Jesus Christ at festive outreach events where children are surprised with these shoebox gifts. The children are also invited to participate in a twelve-lesson discipleship program that includes Bible stories and Scripture memorization. Since 2009 over 23 million children have enrolled.

Caris is a nonprofit counseling organization meeting the needs of women during and after unplanned pregnancy. Our culture paints a bleak future for women who experience an unplanned pregnancy. The message is so negative it causes many women to believe that their only options are abortion or overwhelming struggle as a mom. Caris is unique because we work to meet the needs of both the woman and the child, refusing to follow the current political debate, by focusing on one over the other. Through our unique Pro-Grace® Approach, Caris creates another option for every woman so that both she and her child can thrive.

Founded in 1985, Caris has been serving women throughout Chicagoland for three decades.
