What a great Missions Week we’ve been having here at The Moody Church! I’m always encouraged to hear from our partners and missionaries. God is on the move all around the world drawing people to Himself. And we get to be a part of that great work as we give, pray, and go. What joy it is to know we’re making a difference!
This Sunday, we have the immense privilege of hearing from our good friend, Dr. Jerry Root, as he shares with us about “Intimacy with Jesus.” A deep and abiding relationship with Jesus is both the fuel and fruit of our mission. It is what empowers us to go out on mission. And the mission drives us back with greater need for more of Jesus. Living on mission supercharges our relationship with Jesus. Jerry is one of my favorite people, and I know you will be abundantly blessed as he opens God‘s word for us.
As this Missions Week draws to a close, let’s not forget that this is an everyday mission. Each one of us has people in our lives who are far from Jesus but near to us. We scatter to “go and be the church” where we live, work, learn, and play. We are Christ’s ambassadors in this world. And we are loved, more than we know!
