Psalm 92:1 . . .  A Song for the Sabbath. It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High!

Join us at The Moody Church for a once-a-month Shabbat/Sabbath service called Beth Sar Shalom (House of the Prince of Peace). On the first Friday of each month, we come together to pray, worship, and learn in a beginner-friendly Sabbath service that incorporates Jewish and Christian elements.

In Exodus the Lord commands a day of rest, the Sabbath. In Deuteronomy we are told that the Sabbath is important because the Lord saved the Hebrews from Egypt. In the New Testament, in Luke, Jesus proclaims that it is fitting for someone to be healed and set free because the Sabbath is about freedom, salvation, and rest.  As followers of Jesus, the Sabbath is important because Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath; He gives us rest from having to work to achieve salvation.

Join us to discover the harmony of Judaism and Christianity!

Traditional Sabbath services and celebrations may be different from what you expect but are meant to glorify God and help us enter rest to reflect on the Most High.

Join us for this tremendous opportunity to learn how the Old and New Testaments connect and the ways that Judaism and Christianity come together. Bring a friend, and come and enjoy!

Location & Time: Services are typically on the first Friday of the month, start at 6:30pm and end by 8:00pm, and are held in Room 103 unless otherwise noted.

In conjunction with Chosen People Ministries, Moody Church missionary Roy Schwarz leads this Bible study walking through the book of Genesis. You’ll learn the unity of the old and new covenants from a Jewish perspective, helping you better understand the Jewish roots of our faith in Jesus

It’s a wonderful opportunity for Christians and Jewish people to learn together from our shared Scriptures. Everyone is welcome!
