Concerts & Events
Easter Sunday Service
A joyous and triumphant acclamation of Christ’s Resurrection, with the Sanctuary Choir and Festival Orchestra. Join us Sunday April 20 at 10:00am in the Sanctuary as we celebrate and worship God for His gift of salvation through Christ.
Seating will be limited; arrive early to ensure you can join us in the Sanctuary. Also, all afternoon and evening programs and services are set aside on April 20, and the church will be closing at 1:00pm.
Good Friday Service
A reflective worship experience with music by the Sanctuary Choir and string ensemble and a special service of communion. This year, we will walk through the Seven Cries from the Cross. Join us at 7:00pm on Friday April 18 in the Sanctuary.
Holy Week Vespers Service
A service of reflection, prayer and preparation during the season of Lent, integrating a variety of musical and artistic elements presented by the Artist Circle.
John 1 says that Christ is the Light that enters the darkness, but the darkness has not comprehended it. This begs the question, “Who will see the light?”. Presented by the Artist Circle, this dramatic experience including a variety of musical and artistic elements will look into the lives of three individuals who encountered the Light, and their responses. Featured guest author and speaker Christopher Yuan will present his compelling “changed-life” story; what happens when someone sees that Light?
Sanctuary Choir Reunion
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
This May, we will bring hundreds of voices together in singing praise to our God, giving thanks over the remembrance of His faithfulness to The Moody Church for 150 years, and celebrating the joy of changed lives through song.
All are invited to these free, enriching evenings, featuring a wide variety of music performed by members and friends of the church. Concerts are typically held in the church lobby, with light refreshments served afterwards. Fine music, fun fellowship and free food – don’t miss out!
Coming next: David Taylor, Assistant Concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will perform with pianist Brian Lee, Faculty at the Moody Bible Institute, Sunday June 1 at 6:30pm in the Extended Lobby!
