Leadership
Pastor Mark Pirrie
As Pastor for Community Life, Mark is responsible for helping The Moody Church members catch a vision for what it would be like to live a totally God-centered life and for getting people connected into nurturing relationships that promote a God-centered life. His main responsibilities include TMC Communities and Small Groups. He also helps to oversee Camp and Precepts ministries and some church-wide events. Mark was raised in a strong Christian family in Wayne, IL. He grew up in a (large) family that was regularly involved in the life of the church. Dinner conversations typically revolved around aviation (Mark’s father was a pilot for United), church life, and/or arguing over theology. Family members (like mom), who wanted to talk about something else, needed to speak up quickly and loudly. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Divinity School, he was called to the Moody Church in June of 2003. Mark and Patti were married in 1996 and have three children: Joshua, Taylor Ann, and Alexandra. Mark enjoys sports (especially the Bears), reading, and spending time with his family.
