Are you MAD?
Now relax, before you start naming and listing all of the people and things that get you angry, upset and frustrated, the question does not relate to your homicidal tendencies, or your emotional state. Nor is the question asking for a self-assessment regarding your mental health. To the contrary, the question; “ARE YOU MAD?” is really asking is: Are you Making A Difference? MAD.
God, has saved us in order that we each should make a difference in the lives of people we connect with and in the places where we live and work. Heb. 9:14. When we edify and equip others, we make a difference. When our lives Glorify God, we can make a difference. 1 Cor. 15:58. Now to be sure, our efforts must always be enabled by the Holy Spirit, but God uses us nonetheless to make a real difference in peoples’ lives. 1 Pet. 4:10. MAD is not dependent on possessions or the lack thereof. You can make a difference whether you have been blessed with a lot, or whether you are homeless and living in a rescue mission. MAD is not dependent on age. You are never too young and never too old to make a difference, to be used by God, to share your testimony and the Good News. MAD is not reserved for the athletic and those with super human strength. Joni Erickson Tada, for example, is a paraplegic who God has used to make a difference in the lives of literally thousands of people around the world. So, you do not have to have money, youth, good looks, an I-Pad, and a new car in order to make a difference when you a have surrendered your life to God. You want to know something else? It does not take a great deal of time either to make a difference in the life of someone. Five minutes can make a difference for all of eternity.
Only what we do for Christ will last!
If you do not share the gospel with your family members, who will? If you do not share your faith at work, how will your coworkers ever know that what makes you different is the power of Christ working in you? It is when we are used by God, to glorify Him and share the good news, that we are at our best and making a difference in our culture.
So: Got a question for you? Are you MAD?
