How can we develop a heart for other people? In this passage, Jesus encourages his disciples to pray for workers to be sent out to the harvest. The important lesson here is that consistent prayer changes our hearts and gives us compassion for others. Prayer is the bridge that links Jesus’ ministry and the ministry of his church. Prayer drives us to action because it aligns us with the heart of God to acknowledge that we have been sent. This empowers us to move from being people who receive the message of Jesus to being able to tell it, refocusing us on the Great Commission. Who are you praying for today?
