Today is a bittersweet one for our Moody Church family as we launch our own Pastor Michael Best out to sunny California to become the Lead Pastor of Morgan Hill Bible Church. Michael has served as our Student Ministries Pastor for the past 11 years. That means he’s been the longest serving youth pastor in Moody Church history! Through his shepherding, hundreds of our students have grown in their knowledge and love for the Lord and in His service. Pastor Michael has also provided leadership in other areas of our church, including our Camp and Sports Ministries and most recently the Sunday Night Service. And who can forget his comedic side that made our New England Dinners so memorable?!?

We’re excited to commission Pastor Michael this morning for the ministry to which God has called him. We pray that the Lord would empower him greatly as he faithfully proclaims the gospel through the preaching of the Word. We ask that Michael would have a deep sense of the Lord’s presence and strength working in and through him for the good of the church and the glory of Christ. And we pray God would protect and watch over him and his dear wife Kristin and their precious daughter Arya. May the Lord bless them and keep them.

To Michael, Kristin, and Arya: please know that we will miss you terribly. We are so grateful for how you have served well here at The Moody Church. And we await with anticipation what God will do in and through you in the years ahead. Please always remember, you are loved, more than you know!

  1. I just found this sight while searching for information about Dwight L. Moody. I am so glad I did! As a matter of fact I used to subscribe to Moody Monthy.(I am getting red underline now on Monthly- don’t know why). I am 74 and live in Wilson’s Creek, a nursing home. Would love to correspond with a male and female member of your church, hope that is possible. This morning I watched an old black and white film called “In His Steps”. I remember reading the novel years ago remember it well. The film did justice to the book I thought .
    May God bless you all
