Mental Health

Our mental health ministry seeks to provide support for persons with mental health diagnoses and their loved ones. We have the conviction that it is possible to live well in spite of having a mental health challenge because of the hope there is in Christ.

In many churches, intentionally or unintentionally, the overriding emphasis is on “victorious Christian living,” with the basic assumption that real Christians don’t have problems– or at least not crippling, persistent problems that prayer won’t cure. This is in direct contradiction to what Jesus said: “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
