Philippians 1:27-29
Paul considered it a privilege to suffer for Christ; part of our calling is to suffer for Him. Are we suffering for the right reason? Suffering as a consequence of our sinful behavior is not what Paul had in mind when he said that we ought to suffer for Him. Am I suffering because I stand firm in my defense of the gospel or am I suffering because often I act like a jerk and consequently people retaliate against me? Paul encourages us to conduct ourselves as people worthy of the gospel.
Questions we need to ponder:
- Do we display integrity 24/7?
- Are we strengthened by God’s power?
- Are we patient, long suffering, humble… are we walking worthy of the gospel?
- Are we trending towards holiness or towards worldliness?
The way we live matters to God, live in a manner worthy of God.
