DISCOVERY LEVEL
Discovering our Church (Membership Seminar)
This 4-week course is designed to introduce you
to the history of the church as well as the many ways in which you
can serve in the various ministries. You will learn about D.L. Moody,
our missions’ ministry, our many
TMC Communities and much more. This is the required class to becoming
a member of The Moody Church.

Discovering your Gifts (Serving with Purpose)
This class is to help you discover what your
spiritual gift is. God has equipped every believer with a spiritual gift
in order to serve the Body and strengthen it. If you do not know what
your gift is or where you can serve most effectively, then this a class
for you.
For the Winter 2010 semester, Serving
with Purpose will meet Sundays at 1:15 beginning February 14. Click

Discovering the Faith (New Believers)
Led by John Kwasny and Daryl Travis
Sundays at 11:30am beginning September 13 in Room 304
This class is designed to provide a nurturing environment for those who have recently entered into a relationship with Jesus. The class meets in 12 week sessions and uses the curriculum, Now that I Believe: Your First Steps with God. This interactive class encourages Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. All new believers are encouraged to attend.

Discovering the Bible
This 10-session video seminar gives participants
the “big picture” of the Bible story, tracing God’s plan
of redemption from the Garden of Eden in Genesis through the new Heaven
and new Earth in Revelation. The study is designed specifically for
those who are new to the Bible or who want a quick overview of the Christian
faith, although anyone is welcome. The discussion will be facilitated
by Pastor Mark Pirrie.
For the Summer 2010 semester, three of our Level 100 courses will be offered: Defending Your Faith, Gospel and Culture, and Grasping God’s Word. What We Believe will not be offered, nor will any Level 200 courses.
LEVEL 100: GROWING
Defending Your Faith
Taught by Ryan Oberly
Wednesdays, 6:45pm-7:45pm in Room 304
May 5 through July 7
Defending Your Faith will help you to:
- engage people in meaningful discussions about your faith
- defend your faith against difficult questions
- increase your confidence in the trustworthiness
of the Scriptures
- talk about the uniqueness of Christ
- defend Jesus being the only way to God in a pluralistic culture

Gospel and Culture
Taught by Pastor Steve Mason
Sundays, 2:30pm-4:00pm in Sankey
May 2 through July 25 (no class on July 4; class will meet on Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day)
Gospel and Culture will enable you to:
- learn the biblical Gospel in an easy to remember
way
- grow in your understanding of the Gospel through
the lens of all Scripture
- gain a greater understanding of our post-Christian
society
- articulate the Gospel as well as understand
other worldviews

Grasping God's Word
Taught by Scott Lilly
Sundays, 8:30am-9:30am in Room 305
May 2 through July 25 (no class on July 4; class will meet on Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day)
Grasping God's Word teaches you to:
- read and study God's Word with greater clarity and comprehension
- understand Scripture in light of the context in
which it was written
- see how Scripture was given to change the way we think, feel, and
act
- apply God's unchanging Word to our changing world
and to your own life

What We Believe
This class will not be offered this semester.
What We Believe teaches you:
- an overview of the key areas of biblical doctrine
- the biblical support for these key beliefs
- how our beliefs affect our practice in the local church
- how what we believe should make a difference in our
daily lives

From God to Us: How We Got Our Bible

The History of the Church: An overview from the days of the church fathers until now.
What They Believe: a two-part course that will give you an understanding the beliefs of world religions and the cults.
Soul Care: How the whole flock of God can care for one another.
To the Ends of the Earth and Back Again: the biblical foundations, history and principles of world missions.
Advanced Apologetics: Strengthening your ability to defend the faith.
