How do I check in my child? If you’re a visitor, we look forward to meeting you at our Welcome Kiosks on the second floor. Located near the elevators, our friendly trained staff will help you register your children and direct you to the appropriate rooms. They can also any questions you may have. If you plan to attend regularly and would like to get permanent security tags for your child, please fill out and turn in a registration form.
What do you do with the information on my registration
form? We only use the information to
get to know you and your child better.
We are able to identify allergies, special
needs & birthdays,
send you updated ministry information and keep our records accurate.
It is never shared with outside organizations or individuals.
What if my child has been sick?
For the children's health, we ask that children who have a fever or show symptoms of any contagious disease within the last 24 hours not be brought to the Nursery or Early Childhood Ministries.
What happens if my child needs me? How will you find
me? In the event that our staff needs
to reach you, your child’s
security number will appear on the visual paging display located
in the front of the sanctuary and throughout the building. If you
are volunteering in another classroom or ministry, please let your
child’s teachers know so we can contact you there.
Does my child have snack time? We seek to provide safe and suitable
snacks for your children excluding any
peanut products. If your child has any
allergies or dietary restrictions, please
be sure to notify the classroom leader
and record it on your child’s registration
form for our reference.
What happens in the event of an emergency? The Children’s Ministries Team has been trained to
handle most emergency situations. Medical professionals are also
on call every Sunday. In case of an emergency specific to your child,
we will locate you immediately. In case of an emergency requiring
evacuation, your child will be escorted calmly & safely by
our staff out the nearest exit and assemble in the park just north
of the Chicago History Museum. Parents, please pick up your child
at that location.
What kind of security check is used for volunteers? Screening for volunteers requires
church membership, a comprehensive application,
background and reference checks, as well as personal
interviews with members of our Executive Committee and Children’s
Ministries staff.
