Stewardship means using and managing all of the resources that God provides to us for His glory and the betterment of His creation. How we approach finances displays the priorities of our hearts. God wants to regenerate our hearts and habits to be in tune with His purposes.
Under the direction of Pastor Bob Gunter, the Financial Stewardship ministry seeks to provide training and information to help you have a sound financial foundation based on Biblical principles. Trained professionals from our own congregation lead the various classes and workshops throughout the year. Join with us on this journey as we explore how a life well lived for God is marked by faith and a commitment “…to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.” (1 Timothy 6:18)

A lot of Americans have almost no financial margin. Experts tell us that:
- 75% of Americans making less than $50,000 per year would have trouble covering a $1000 emergency expense.
- 67% of people in the $50,000 – $100,000 range would have the same difficulty.
- And the same is true of 38% of those making more than $100,000.
It’s also true of many of us at The Moody Church. Statistics from prior Financial Peace University classes show that average credit card debt (excluding auto & student loans and mortgages) ranges from $7,000 to $23,000 per family.
However, among the bad news, there is hope! Whether you’re struggling with credit card debt and living paycheck-to-paycheck, or you need help planning for the future, the 9-week Financial Peace University seminar will help you. You’ll learn how to get out of debt and how to manage your finances wisely according to God’s Word.
