Parenting Class

Wednesdays from September through May
6:45-8:00pm in Room 307

These courses, facilitated by Pastor Bob Gunter and his wife Linda, rely on biblical principles, use current Christian parenting resources and include robust class discussions covering parenting challenges at all ages and stages.  The parenting classes typically run concurrent with the AWANA and Youth class schedules.  The fall 2015 series begins on September 16.

Mom2Mom

Mom2Mom is Bible study and fellowship for young moms, led by older mentor moms. We are here to lead you deeper into the Word, and provide encouragement to grow in your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.  

Mom2Mom is an open group; any mom is invited to join us at any time during the session. We meet every other Thursday, 9:15 - 11:30am in Room 307.

Session 1: September 22 through December 15, 2016

Session 2: January 26 through April 20, 2017

Suggested contribution for the Precept book is $5

Childcare: We offer a safe nurturing environment for pre-school children from infancy through kindergarten. The cost is $5 per session per family.

Family Legacy Class

Periodically meets Sundays 11:30am to 12:30pm

This class focuses on biblical principles for parenting and nurturing children towards faith focusing on key topics. Watch the bulletin for the next study topic and start date.   

YourMarriageYourFamily, Covenant and Cornerstone Communities

Sundays 11:30am to 12:30pm
Rooms 108, 307 and 304

These communities are composed of married couples, and offer a place where friendships and fellowship can be nurtured on a weekly basis. Teaching topics typically focus on practical living and marriage and family related issues.

General Marital Counseling

The pastoral staff of The Moody Church can be contacted by members and regular attendees to request assistance in the resolution of family and marriage difficulties.  Typically, such counseling is provide for a limited period of time and by pastoral staff who serve in ministry areas typicaly populated by married couples and families.  The Moody Church pastoral staff does not hold itself out as professional marriage or family counselors or therapists.  Counsel, prayer and suggested spiritual disciplines are based on biblical principles.

Premarital Counseling

Sundays 3:00pm - periodically through the year

This nine-week course is typically offered two times per year in February and September.  The class is required for those seeking to be married at The Moody Church, but is open to any couple desiring to start their marriage on a solid, biblical basis. It features PREPARE/Enrich testing, the Before I Do workbook, and a practical biblical teaching by mature pastoral and lay couples. The course fee of $80 per couple is for the workbooks and in-class materials.

The optional PREPARE/Enrich testing costs $35 and paid separately by each couple.

Homeschooling Support Group

This group meets once a month and is facilitated by Rob and Mildred Tong.  The Homeschooling Support Group also sponsors Homeschool Enrichment Fridays at the church.  For further information contact Rob Tong at colickyboy@gmail.com.

Classical Conversations

Mondays from September to May
Second floor

The Moody Church hosts this independent group of Christian home-school parents using a tutor-enhanced program to discover the order and beauty of God’s creation. The program combines classical learning (grammar, dialectic and rhetoric) and a biblical world view.
