Summer 2017 Courses

Registration opens Sunday June 11

Our summer schedule provides new and unique opportunities to deepen your faith through shorter-length courses. You’ll better understand how to engage the people and culture around you in a redemptive way, and to begin conversations that can open doors for the gospel. Registration for both courses will open Sunday June 11.

Our core courses—Defending Your Faith, Grasping God’s Word, Sharing Your Faith (formerly Gospel & Culture), Teach Us to Pray, and What We Believe—will return in the fall. The fall schedule will be posted and registration will open mid-August.

Sundays beginning June 25, 1:15–2:30pm in Room 303

19th-century pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon has often been called the “Prince of Preachers.” Join us this summer for a special four-week study of Spurgeon’s sermons on heaven and hell. As we read and discuss his messages, we’ll better understand both him and the wisdom he passed on to us about this very important topic. In his own words, “It is a very remarkable fact that no inspired preacher of whom we have any record ever uttered such terrible words concerning the destiny of the lost as our Lord Jesus Christ.” Cost: $20 includes all materials.

Sundays beginning July 16, 1:15–4:30pm in Room 309

Learn how to “take every thought captive” as you enjoy classic examples of Hollywood film noir! Thinking Through Movies is a five-week course where you’ll learn how to view movies through the lens of our faith and God’s Word. From 1947’s Out of the Past, considered one of the greatest films noir, to the 1948 Oscar-winning Naked City, each film will give you a new perspective on how to see our culture with a Christian worldview. Cost: $15 includes book and materials.
