The February Women on the Way luncheon which had to be cancelled is re-scheduled for Saturday, May 3.
A new drama group at The Moody Church will be presenting the first in a series of dramatic presentations, based on Mary Whelchel’s book, Fran and Jesus on the Job. This is the Christian version of a soap opera, based on the life of a young career woman, Fran, who was recently widowed because of the sudden death of her husband, and she now faces the necessity of earning a living and raising her two young children on her own.
Jesus used story-telling as his most effective
way of teaching, and these stories of Fran are written and produced to teach
two things:
• How to practice
the presence of Jesus in your everyday life
• Biblical principles
relating to specific issues
This first presentation will focus on the topic of sexual purity in a world that has long since abandoned any semblance of biblical morals.
Directed by Susanne Steger and narrated by Mary Whelchel, the drama will be both entertaining and—more importantly—instructive.
Don’t miss this first installment of our “Christian soap opera” – Fran and Jesus on the Job!
